Learning Experiences We see that who we are as social change agents is just as important as what we do and how we work. We design and deliver learning experiences that engage these three dimensions. Our learning experiences engage individuals and groups in courses, workshops, and what we call “Plunge Activities” that are intended to awaken new ways of doing, knowing, and being. Past Learning Events and Workshops- Integral Leadership, including integral capacity building retreats in Nigeria, El Salvador, Peru, and BC.
- Integral Community Development, including how to work with different world views and values, understanding the interface between local economies and social organizing, and more.
- Integral Ecology, based on experience in conservation in the temperate rainforests of BC, the mangrove forests of El Salvador, and the Amazon rainforest in Peru.
- Integral International Development, in which social change agents can come together to build community, share tools, deepen their awareness, and renew understanding on the issues they engage.
- Integral Monitoring and Evaluation to assess interior changes (such as meaningful participation, empowerment and values) as well as exterior changes resulting from sustainability projects.
Examples of specific workshops and learning events have included: - Developing capacity for using participatory methods in community engagement and for understanding multiple worldviews with Amazon Conservation Association (Asociacion para la Conservacion de la Cuenca Amazonica) in Cusco, Peru, carried out collaboratively with One Sky.
- Integral Sustainable Development retreat with CESTA-Amigos de la Tierra in El Salvador.
- Workshops with Integrated Land Management Bureau in Smithers, BC on the technical and social side of land use planning.
- Capacity Building on the Integral Approach to healthy communities with BC Healthy Communities.
- Two global meetings that Drishti co-organized with Integral Without Borders, held in France (2006) and Istanbul (2008).

Plunge ActivitiesDrishti also offers a unique model for Plunge Activities in the global south. Plunge Activities provide real-world engagement with global issues and with community leaders who are engaging in innovative solutions. These trips encourage and inspire self-inquiry into one's own role in both the challenges and solutions. During the trip, we also investigate the power dynamics and systemic reasons for injustice, as well as pathways towards sustainability and equality. We offer these plunge activities in association with the projects we are actively involved in, such as: - Climate change adaptation and community well-being in El Salvador,
- Integral leadership for sustainable development in Nigeria, and
- Amazon rainforest conservation in Peru.
This September 4th-15th, Drishti is helping to organize and coordinate an Integral Field Course to Peru. The course is offered by JFK University in collaboration with Drishti, and is open to graduate students and non-degree students. The course is currently full. However, please be in
